Oils High In Linoleic Acid

Posted by Purrfect Sunday on

Knowing the ingredients that go into your skin care products is crazy important! Something that you’ll want to keep an eye out for are oils that are high in linoleic acid because they play a key role in making your skin look gorgeous and healthy. Curious to know what they are? We’re here to help! In this post, we’ll discuss 6 different oils that are high in linoleic acid and what they can do for your skin. Let’s see what some of these oils are all about!

What Is Linoleic Acid?

Before we hop into these acids, let’s first find out what linoleic acid actually is. Often referred to as Vitamin F, linoleic acid is an Omega-6 fatty acid and is considered to be an essential fatty acid. What does this mean? The body is not able to produce this on its own, so it is important to have some sort of linoleic acid involved in your skincare routine.

This acid is recommended most for those that have acne-prone skin because those who suffer from acne have a lower concentration of linoleic on their skin’s surface, which may be the cause of clogged pores. Yikes!

With a comedogenic rating of “o”, safflower oil prevents dryness and removes excess dirt and oil from your skin. This oil is a great candidate for oil cleansing because of its thin consistency. When you apply it to your skin, it goes on very lightly and absorbs quickly!

What’s even better? Safflower oil also has hydrating properties that will hydrate your skin and give it a healthy glow. For those who have oily skin, safflower oil will definitely do your skin some good! With our Serenity Cleanser, it will clean your skin of any unwanted dirt or oil and leave it feeling squeaky clean. Time to get your glow on friends!

Hemp Seed

Hmm, what exactly is hemp seed oil? This oil comes from the food-grade strain of the Cannabis sativa plant. This wonderful oil has the trifecta of healing properties: it balances, hydrates, and regulates your skin’s oil production. What more could you ask for?! If your skin is acne prone, hemp seed oil will reduce your breakouts that are caused by excess oil.

Is your skin in need of a little moisture? Hemp seed oil will moisturize your skin in a healthy manner that will not clog your pores. As it moisturizes, it will soothe any inflammation because one of the omega-6 fatty acids that hemp oil contains is gamma-linoleic acid. What is this fatty acid you may ask? This acid acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory while simultaneously encouraging skin growth and new cell generation. One of the ingredients in our Naked Cream just so happens to be hemp seed and this product will act as a non-greasy moisturizer that heals and protects your skin!

Argan oil is made of kernels that grow from argan trees. This oil will protect you from sun damage because the antioxidants in the oil battle against free radical damage that’s caused by it. If you have any skin conditions or infections, the antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties of argan oil will help heal your skin! Do you suffer from rosacea? With our Glow Serum, it can help reduce redness and irritation. Sometimes our skin needs a little extra help so fear not, we’re here for ya!

Grapeseed oil is a byproduct of winemaking. When grape seeds are left behind, the oil is extracted from them. So what does this oil do for your skin? With grapeseed oil, it will penetrate your skin while not leaving it feeling oily, and help improve your skin’s barrier while reducing the appearance of acne scars and any hyperpigmentation!

In addition, grapeseed oil will moisturize, heal, lighten your skin, tighten your pores so that your skin will look oh-so stunning. We like the sound of that! Our Yin Yang Cleanser will work hard to keep your skin in-check and clean as a whistle.

This oil is great for those with acne-prone skin because of its antimicrobial properties. The oil will work its magic to help prevent any future breakouts and try to combat any acne that you currently may have.

Do you feel like your skin is aging more than it should? The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles will be reduced giving you that youthful look! If you find that your skin is appearing to be uneven, rosehip oil will help balance it out. Adding our Calm Serum to your skincare routine will help in a big way!
